Begin INTRODUCTION and CONCLUSION-can finish for HW or touch up tomorrow before presentation
Add Pictures and Video to WebQuest
Agenda:
What to do with the Wiki Home Page:
You can't delete it
One option: include an image and instruction to click on the INTRODUCTION page
How to find resources and tools on your own
Just do a web search! Keep it simple. For example, don't type an entire sentence into the search box, just the keywords. If you are looking for something interactive, include the word. e.g. slope interactive, or water cycle animation, or rock cycle game
How to insert images and files:
Copy/pasting from other websites will sometimes work, but it is not the best way. The image will not actually be saved to YOUR site, but being pulled from the other site each time it is viewed.
You will need to SAVE the image or file to your computer.
Click the EDIT button in WikiSpaces, then click the FILE button. Click UPLOAD FILE to add your file/image and select it from the menu once it loads. You can re-size it once it is in your wiki.
How to display to windows side by side and see them at the SAME time
open 2 windows (can be browser, word, any program).
Minimize or close those you do not want to use at this time
Mouse over the bottom task bar in an area where it is BLANK so the mouse is not over top of any icons.
RIGHT click
At school and older computers select "Tile Windows Vertically" for side by side and "Tile Windows Horizontally" for stacked.
Newer versions of windows: select "Show Windows Side by Side"
How to Create a NEW wiki with your account

At the top RIGHT click "New Wiki" --You can make TONS of wikis with your single account
Make your Wiki name relevant to your WebQuest and fairly simple. It will become the web address you give to your students.

Click the "Wiki Type" drop-down box and select "K-12 Education" You will get a better version with no ads for free!
How to Make A Hyperlink to Click on!
Have your wiki open in one window and the site you would like to link to in the second window.
Click "Edit" in your wiki to load the web editor.
Type the word that you would like to use for your link
Highlight it and click the "Link" symbol (looks like 2 chain links)
Click on your OTHER open window
Select the address bar
RIGHT click > Copy
Click back to your Wiki window
Select the Web Address tab
Right click in the address > Paste
CTRL+C = copy
CTRL+V =paste
How to add pages in WikiSpaces
You will need a separate page for each portion of your WebQuestl Don't worry about the order they appear in or anything like that. It can all be changed and formatted later.
